Not many people go to Miami for the night, but on the heels of the college tour, I decided a Saturday night in Miami would be the perfect remedy for me to blow off some steam and check out the world’s most amazing art fair. I’ve been in super gear mode with helping Sea with college shopping, finishing up my second novel: A Second Course, and promoting my cool new marketplace on kellykbensimon.com, which has everything for the holiday season and amazing girts for that special someone.
The Soho House is everything in Miami. It’s filled with the “Who’s Who” and has a low key elegance with high security. Since I’m single, (I recently cleaned house of any man I wasn’t serious about, or who wasn’t a positive influence. Bye Felicia! My friends and I actually call them ‘Cindys.’) I was very clued into the very attractive men who seemed to literally appear out of nowhere the entire weekend. Like nowhere.
Poolside, I really wanted a glass of rose but my 6AM flight fatigue alerted me to stay hydrated and eat healthy. Fav of the menu: The feta tomato and cucumber salad with chicken: filling and perfect for the Soul Cycle bikini body.
At the convention center it was Picasso mania.
Julian Schnabel had a huge presence and new emerging galleries fought for attention from French gallery Kristen Greve who showcased sculptures by Louis Bourgeois and Cy Twombly drawings. Gagosian had an epic ‘sapphire’ and Banskys and Alec Monopolys are high demand. Meanwhile Mr. Brainwash is big on the social scene and I had a blast with the celebs at Loren Ridinger‘s yearly party.
Andy Cohen made a last minute entrance and we talked about filming for Housewives. Thoughts?
The Fountainbleu was packed with pre 50 Cent excitement.
But this seasons hot spot was the Nautilus Hotel. I loved all the parties and seeing a sea of beautiful women/handsome men everywhere. But my night opened up at Amy Sacco’s library at the Faena Hotel and then the late night dancing at The Soho House by the beach.
Venus Williams was my wing-girl as we walked around looked for fun eligible men who liked either me or her. My line was, “Don’t you look familiar?” Not that great, but every man did respond. Who wouldn’t!! I was with Venus!! I did meet one Italian from Florence who kept calling me “Kelly from NY,” and I also danced with an epic dancer who would be my pre-coach if I were to ever go on Dancing With the Stars.
And Venus and I did do a booty shake. Mine was enhanced by my Zimmerman floral dress which had the cutest layering in the back. Yes, it appears that for one night, baby got back…
