The other day I had the pleasure of hosting a trunk show with one of my favorite designers – Timo Weiland at Scoop in New York. Timo’s designs are young and fresh, catering to the cool crowd for whom he DJs at The Jane and SoHo Grand.
He’s been on my radar – and that of fashion insiders since he launched his first collection for Spring 2010. Since then, the line has been picked up by Barney’s, Shopbop and a number of top stores internationally.
I was excited to check out the new Spring collection, which according to Timo are “inspired by the idyllic poolside and oceanfront scenes captured by mid-century photographer Slim Aarons.” I picked my favorite dresses and took a walk around my neighborhood.
The result? I love Timo’s chic yet young and sexy designs this season. I love wearing dresses anyway, and these are perfect for daytime meetings with designers, lunches with friends, and everything in between.

Q You are the hottest fashion darling. What’s your secret?
A Staying authentic is the best thing. I was reading about designer Thom Browne and he even said to stay true to yourself. I’m trying to authentically present myself to the world.
Q What was it like to be selected by the CFDA?
A We were DJing at the SoHo Grand and someone told us to apply to the Incubator. We knew we’d be so silly if we didn’t apply, and how amazing it would be to be exposed to the mentorship. Every day we are so grateful. We are a completely different company now.
