As Samantha Jones once said – I don’t believe in the Republican or Democrat party – I just believe in parties! This afternoon I took the Acela from New York to DC for a political affair that brought together monarch and Democrats alike. Washington’s political brass came out to schmooze and shop with my friend Alvin Valley, the King of Pants.

The elegant trunk show was hosted in the Georgetown townhouse of DC society stalwart and jewelry designer, Ann Hand. If Ayn Rand had a jewelry collection, it would be designed by Ann Hand. Ann’s jewelry features patriotic Americana motifs like bald eagles, military inspired medals and iconography like cherry blossom broaches. Her unique American creations have made Ann a favorite of political leaders over the years and her showroom is decorated with checks and letters from some of her clients: Hillary Clinton, Al Gore and others.
Ann’s jewelry business originally began as a hobby of passion before shortly growing into a full-fledged business, bringing on her niece and daughter to manage the brand.
