OSCARS: Muses & Mash -up

To feast on OSCAR night, I wore Zac Posen had a glass of KRIS Pinot Grigio, and ate tapenade with celery, followed by chicken with capers and spinach, and, and  finished the evening in bed with Welch’s fruit snacks! It was an epic Oscar NIGHT with Kris Jenner hosting E! Red carpet, and Chrissy Tiegen taking a nap during the Casey Affleck’s Oscar acceptance speech, and the Best Picture mixup. It was an OSCAR mashup… My focus for this years Oscars was all about pulling inspiration for my daughter, Sea Bensimon, is going to wear to prom and to her Debutante this fall! So I had to pay extra attention to the dresses!  I feel it’s better to dress for the body you have, and not for the body you want! I had some takeaways from this season: RED is the lip color of the award show season, GOLD Gilded Age dresses are an award winning trend, CHOKERS are the new diamonds, and VELVET is the new satin. Side note: Fuller figures look better in tight dresses and petite frames look better in looser dresses with more fabric. I thought Viola Davis look epic in her red hot sexy dress. I loved Jennifer Anistons full slit action, BUT, I thought Robin Roberts stole the show with her gold dress, and I loved Kirsten Dunst‘s Dior gown. For Sea, I thought Hailee Steinfeld and or Kristen’s would be an epic prom dress inspiration. I loved anything with a ruffle and love the high collar and the strapless black chic Dior gown with pockets. I was not a fan of Charlize Theron’s mini pony tail, and did not like the gold dress on Jessica Biel or the Tiffany & Co Tony Duquette inspired statement necklace. It’s so easy to criticize, and it’s so crazy hard to pick a dress thats right for you, let alone be photographed in it and judged by people like me. My trick is to always take a photo in the mirror of your dress. Sometimes what you see, and what the camera pick up are totally different. Let the cameras eyes be your eyes. Congrats to all the winners and nominees for sticking with such a difficult craft. We all love watching you on the big screen and our iPhones.

Side Note: Haribo Gummy Bear commercial (duh!), ROLEX ad with all the actors wearing ROLEX, ad the visit California with Laird Hamilton and Gabby Reece.

Can’t wait to see whats in store for next year…
