New York Fashion Week Diary

NYFW Spring 2016 made me so excited for summer to come back around. Even though it’s fall, I can’t wait to wear sneakers with colorful dresses a la Vivienne Tam, Rattan wedges matched with laser-cut furs at Denis Basso, Fringe dresses from Serena Williams for HSN, and Geometric cocktail dresses from Bibhu Mohapatra, My favorite show this season was of course, Betsey Johnson. Happy Anniversary Betsey! I can’t believe the brand is 50 and that you are still able to do your splits at the end of the runway! Maybe we should work out together! As for my fall Fashion, this season while the experts were wearing black and white, I went from suiting to floral dresses as I strutted around New York City in sky-high heels by Christian Louboutin. PS- I didn’t pack emergency in my bag. Once they’re on, they stay on! That’s the model in me… No pain, no gain!

Day 2: In the morning I visited my great friend Tess Giberson at a Gallery where I wore a silver pleated dress and watched her collaboration, an ice chair, as it gradually melted before my eyes.. In the spirit of Ellen DeGenerous and her ED for BG Collection, I picked up a navy Stella McCartney suit from Saks 5th Avenue paired with cheetah Loubies and a velvet J. Brand camisole. Later that evening, I stopped by the Tunnel in the Gallery District to give a hug to my dear, Marc Jacobs.

Day 3: To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Betsey Johnson I trekked up to NYFW’s new home on 33rd Street, the Moynihan Station which is housed in the Architecturally significant New York City Post Office in my Tom Ford wide-leg jeans. #legsfordays That night, I went to New York City Library to celebrate  the collaboration of AMFAR x Moncler followed by dinner at Salinas with designer extraordinaire, Christopher Brown and super stylist, Eric T. Lane and supermodel Andrea Denver.

Day 4: I channeled the pretty girl in all white lace for Jill Stuart‘s fantastic Fall fashion show at the trendy Industria Superstudio. The show was packed with long wide-leg on-trend high-waisted trousers and off-the-shoulder blouses of my dreams. So much fun seeing Disney star, Bella Thorne, all grown up!

Day 5: Sunday was spent at the Top of The Standard with Michael Kors in celebration of his new fragrance, GOLD while being serenaded by Duran Duran. I wore a Jill Stuart 70s inspired sequined mini dress belted by Alaia and purple Manolo Blahnik chaos sandals.

Day 6: For Badgley Mischka in the morning, I wore a baby-blue-baby-doll Zimmerman dress with loose curls and a fresh face whilst strutting comfortably in my navy jeweled Manolo flats. After a quick costume change, I wore Zimmerman again, but this time in jazzier print in Boho-style synched with a gold Missoni belt and fringed Manolo Chaos sandals for Dennis Basso‘s show. I then raced to Midtown to watch my fellow HSN-er, Serena Williams, kill it for her debut runway show which was cheered on my Anna WintourGigi Hadid, and Drake, I want that playlist! After taking a conference call in my Uber parked outside the shows, I ended the day at Carmen Marc Valvo where the entire Baldwin Clan, babies included, cheered on Carmen’s Latin inspired, sexy spring collection.

Day 7: Pink is the new black. For Bibhu Mohapatra, I wore a pale pink Jill Stuart dress belted, paired with my sky-high pink Barbie Louboutin heels. Later in the evening, I channeled Thom Browne in a crisp white Alaia shirt dress to speak in support of FoodBank x Henri Bendel with the help of top models, Olivia Anakwe and Frederique Juneau, of New York Models. On my may back downtown, I stopped into Thom Browne’s Varick St flagship to congratulate the suit king on his Town & Country feature…and his cute new puppy, Hector Browne.

Until February! Thank you so much NYFW for  the fun. I loved seeing all of my friends everyday and taking in the beautiful designs. My friends, both designers and watcher-bees inspire me everyday! I love the way people incorporate fashion into their everyday lives. A few take aways: Cat-eye glasses, skinny scarves, floppy hats, kitten heels, black and white, and fringe!
xx
