Fashion Week Diary

The runways of Zac Posen, Dennis Basso, Jill Stuart, Badgley Mischka, Son Jung Wan, and Vivienne Tam were heating up the frigid New York winter weather. Despite frigid temperatures, fashionistas tottered through the snow in sky high pumps through a sea of bloggers outside Skylight Studios in Soho. What I noticed this season was not so much that there were specific trends or must have items coming down the runway, but there was thematic imagery woven through all of the collections. The 80s are back! And in a big way! From the oversized outerwear, loose silhouettes, and bright colors, to the booming 80s hits thumping down the runway…it is a total glamorous resurgence! Vivienne Tam had the most amazing sequin colorful dresses and leather bombers, Jill Stuart’s corseted tops and velvet EVERYTHING, Dennis Basso has the most epic furs I’ve ever seen (I just want to sleep in them), and I will always be black-tie ready with Badgley Mischka. For cute junior must-haves Badgley Mischka also makes some fun adorned sneakers! Zac Posen showed his collection in collaboration with his Father’s artwork which I though was quite special and very ZAC. On another note, surprising, sitting to my left at Domingo Zapata’s Fashion X Art show at The Box, was Lindsay Lohan who was supporting her brother modeling. I opted for many black ensembles, with the exception of my voluminous Missoni dress, to set a sleek slate for accessorizing. But I have to say, my favorite fashion week accessories were my two daughters! Sharing fashion and hearing their takeaway is the best as they have a fresh perspective. Luckily for me, Porsche Design makes gorgeous outerwear so I was able to stay stylishly warm all week long…and so was Madonna, I think she wore it better! Happy #NYFW! xx Kkb
