Connecticut Gold Coast: From the Avenue to Post Road
On the Avenue, Greenwich Avenue, that is!
I played Santa this season and headed out to the Connecticut Goldcoast to go shopping with my friend Tamie Thomas and tour the stores from Greenwich to Darien.
The store destination in Greenwich was Veronica Beard. Everything from super chic jeans, your forever blazer with interchangeable dickies, cozy but high fashion sweaters, amazing boots, bikinis for that resort trip; I found one for New Years in St. Barths! And, they also had the most clever holiday gifting for everyone on your list; him, her, the kids and even your fur baby! We spent several hours here- that seemed like minutes- and we could have closed down the store. We had the best time!
Next up- Barvida in Darien – a new & only location to fuel up on high-end 100% organic, 100% plant-based juice! I got the Chai Latte in a glass jar! It’s no secret I treat my body like a Ferrari and the owners of Barvida feel the same way. Their motto on the wall is “you wouldn’t put low-grade gas in a Ferrari… need we say more?” Feeling good we decided to get comfortable and cozy at WARM Darien and I fell deeply in love with a Kimono, adorable sweats in a tangerine hue from Aloha, a denim playsuit and a striped tee. My big purchase was a Roxanne Assoulin necklace that looked like it was fired from all the hues of the sun. Then, off to Rowayton Seafood where we had very late lunchies; baja fish tacos for me & a lobster roll for Tamie with bread.
Last stop we jumped on a golf cart (as they do) in Darien and hit a private beach to catch the sunset.
My love affair with the CT Gold Coast began while as a student studying at Trinity College and it burns strong after this trip. Darien CT, IS the best of both worlds; homes in the country AND the sea. Today was a good day- a really good day. Love your CT!
