Hey lovers, I’m back in the city just for a minute before jetting off West for Coachella. It’s always hard to leave the sunny beaches of Miami behind, but I’m bringing the ocean back with me. One of my favorite trends (truly more of a classic) is nautical-inspired looks for Spring.
This season set sail with outfits that channel the perennial style icon Jackie Onasis in her years aboard the Christina O. I’ve already talked about my love of white for the upcoming season – now add some navy blue into the mix for a classic mariner look that transitions from sea to dry land. Think stripes, voile jumpsuits perfect for the poop deck, and pea coats that would make Captain Ahab mad with jealousy.
Sleeveless button front jumpsuit, Etienne Marcel. Rock stud shoes, Valentino.
Cropped jackets, like this one from Cockpit USA, make a chic statement and compliment this season’s must-have shirt dress from Ulla Johnson.
Step out of the office and onto your yacht in culottes. This 18th century peasant staple is now one of the trendiest items to incorporate into your wardrobe. Dior introduced them last year (who can forget Jennifer Lawrence on the red carpet in her boxy pair?) and now your favorite labels are introducing their own versions for the season.
Striped top, O’nd. Culottes, Theory.
