I have been reading a lot about New Year’s resolutions. It just seems like there are a a lot of false promises out there. We live in a world where consumers are drawn to black and white — I live in the grey area. As you guys know, I’m not one to judge. Since I’ve been through so many obstacles in my life, I have chosen to take the path of least resistance. I don’t believe in snacking, I don’t believe in tasting things, I don’t believe in skipping meals; but I do believe in fuel — and if fuel tastes great it’s a win win.
Here’s my yearly dilemma: How do I motivate you without sensationalism? How do I encourage you to listen to me when the noise out there is so loud with ‘get fit quick’ schemes? You and I have gone through the Supermodel Diet together many times. We’ve come to realize caffeine is not our friend, realize sugar takes us on a ride we can’t get off, and we’ve seen that carbs at nighttime give us the energy we don’t need. I’m not a fortune teller or a snake oil salesman, I am a mother of two girls, and I like to see people win. Here is what I have to offer:
When I was model I read this book called Fit for Life. Here is the basic diet.
1. Only fruit before 12
2. Carbs and veggies at lunch
3. Protein and veggies at dinner
I modified the diet in I Can Make you Hot by St. Martin’s Press. Which included The Supermodel Diet — no sugar, no caffeine, no carbs, no salt, and no carbonated drinks.
I just want to talk straight with you guys. There is a reason that I look good for my age. I sleep 8 hours a night, I drink a lot of water, I exercise everyday, and I’m not afraid to admit I maintain my youthfulness with micro maintenance — which includes Morpheus8, botox, and fillers. Big spoiler alert: I don’t drink a lot.
So the takeaway from this is, instead of having resolutions, let’s negotiate! You try my lifestyle and I will try your diets. Let’s see who feels better in their skin after one week. If you can’t see results after one week in someone’s diet — it’s not working. The real test is will it sustain the year and/or test of time?
I’m thinking out loud — but maybe it’s time I make a meal plan for you guys. It’s cold out there, so let’s get HOT.
